Leaf has released the Aptus II 5 digital back. It should start to ship during November (’09).

The back features 0.9 fps – fastest of the Aptus-II’s – and also features a 22 MP sensor with a 2.5 LCD touch-screen. As well as this, it has an ISO range of 24-400 and has 12-stop dynamic range.

It will be priced at €5,995 (euro). A Phase One’s 645AF camera body with an 80mm lens will be available along with the digital back for an additional €2,000.

Phase One 645DF medium format camera

Phase One has introduced its 645DF medium format camera. It is developed with Mamiya Digital Imaging, so the camera will be available under both brands.

The camera offers a maximum shutter speed of 1/1600 sec, faster autofocusing and capture rates than past models, and is the only 645 camera to offer focal plane and leaf shutters. It’s compatible with most digital backs from Phase One and Mamiya AFD mount, including ones from Phase One, Mamiya and Leaf. Both companies have announced a partnership with Schneider Kreuznach, and there are now 55mm, 80mm and 110mm F/2.8 leaf shutter lenses for the 645DF.

The camera should start to ship at the end of the year, with prices at around $5990 or €4290, and lenses at $2490 or €1790.
