Nikon posts D3S firmware update (v1.01)

Nikon has posted version 1.01 firmware update for the Nikon D3s.

Firmware v1.01 fixes errors relating to movie recording, exposure preview, live view and the ‘CHA’ error message displayed while using some CF cards. As well as that, it also revises the simplified Chinese menu.

Canon EOS 1D Mark IV firmware update released

Canon has released a firmware update for its somewhat recent 1D Mark IV, or 1D MK IV, as previously reported.

Version 1.0.6 can be downloaded here.

A quote from Canon says,

  1. Firmware Version 1.0.6 enhances the AF tracking performance.*
  2. *AF performance has been enhances for receding subjects and for subjects that are approaching at a low speed.

Canon 1D Mark IV firmware update approaching

Note: this was due to appear on the 24th, but due to technical problems we have had to delay it until today.

Canon is about to release a firmware update for its somewhat recent EOS 1D Mark IV (1D MK IV), which will further enhance AF performance for subjects that are approaching or receding at a low speed.

Olympus releases firmware update version 1.2 for E-P1

Olympus has released firmware update version 1.2 for its E-P1 Micro Four Thirds camera. V1.2 alters the duration of the enlarged MF Assist view to ‘improve operability’. It also changes the camera’s behaviour when the screen backlight is turned off. Firmware updates can be downloaded via the Olympus Master/Studio software.

Nikon D3x, D3, D700 and D300s firmware updates

Nikon has posted firmware updates for its D3X, D3, D700 & D300S DSLRs. With the latest firmware, all four cameras now support 64GB CompactFlash cards. There are further improvements and bug fixes, and all are available for immediate download from Nikon’s website.

Canon EOS 1D Mark III, 1Ds Mark III and 5D Mark II firmware updates

Canon has released firmware updates for the EOS 1D Mark III, 1Ds Mark III and 5D Mark II cameras, which allow compatibility with wireless file transfer units. The Canon 1D series now are compatible with the WFT-E2 II unit, while the 5D Mark II now has support with the WFT-E4 II as well as lower noise when shooting Bulb exposures.

The WFT-E2 and E2A firmware have also been updatedfor use with the 1D Mark IV.

Canon working on 5D Mark II firmware update for 60fps

According to a source from Planet5D, Canon is working on a 5D MK (Mark) II firmware update, allowing not just 24fps, but also 60fps at 720p.

Update: the image above has been confirmed to be a 1D MK IV, not a 5D MK II. Does this prove the firmware update for 60fps is not going to come out? Only time will tell.
