‘Nikon 800’ ad by Nikon Europe

A search for the D700 on Amazon.fr (France) features an ad stating ‘Nikon 800’ (bottom of page). A screenshot is shown below:

Unlike any other advertisement, however, this is actually paid for by Nikon Europe, as described below the main link, which itself takes you to the Nikon Europe websites.

However, while the link has ‘…europe-nikon.com/noel’ – in other words, it’s advertising mainly for Christmas (Noel in French is Christmas) – its title of ‘Nikon 800’ leaves questions to be answered. CameraTech has spent a while inquiring into this matter, and we’ve found nothing so far. Simply, the link leads to the Nikon Europe website.

Perhaps the ad is advertising a new D800, the discontinued SB-800 or the old Coolpix 800? No one knows for certain.

i must admit i wasn’t too serious, but since most rumors are either uninforamtive or untrue who cares, maybe Sony and Nikon do a joint venture mirrorless FF camera and call it DA800
