Canon will be absent at PMA; focus on CES

Canon has announced that it will have no representative at the international PMA show in Anaheim, California next February (2010).

Because of confluence of technology across Canon’s range, the ‘decision has been made by Canon USA to only participate in 2010 trade shows and events that have the broadest reach,’ Canon said.

However, Canon will be at the international CES show in Las Vegas, Nevada, which runs from January 7-10th.

Note: it can be inferred that Canon is announcing new technology at CES, and could even include the 1500D/Rebel T1 and/or the 1D MK III — which may feature a new Digic V processor — and that is why Canon wants to skip PMA next year.
